Mariachi Summer Camp at Texas Southmost College
Texas Southmost College is hosting its Mariachi Summer Camp from July 1-3, 2024, at the TSC Performing Arts Center, providing an enriching opportunity for students to develop their musical talents. Camp organizer Avigai Gonzalez emphasizes the camp's non-competitive nature, where students from various school districts can receive expert guidance and build friendships while learning together.
Participants will engage in hands-on exercises and clinics led by experienced mariachi instructors, including master conductor Adrian Vaca from Mariachi Sol de Mexico de Jose Hernandez. The camp caters to all skill levels, encouraging interaction and learning among students, which fosters a deeper appreciation for mariachi music. Gonzalez highlights the event's potential to cultivate a passion for the genre, as it offers a personalized learning experience with clinicians dedicated to nurturing each student's growth.
As the camp approaches, Gonzalez invites students to join this vibrant musical community, reinforcing that music education is accessible to everyone, regardless of background or experience.
